I was just thinking to myself about how much I hate gardening, and trying to come up with some good reasons to tell my wife why I shouldn't have to spend every daylight hour pulling up damned weeds and cutting the grass . . .

LOL you could do like what I did: pulled everything out & paved the backyard in recycled rubber tiles. There is a grand total of 1 inch of space all around not covered by it & that's covered by gravel. The front is grass, but it's the responsibility of our condo corp. I'm thinking: man I am sooooooooooooooo glad we did that!!! |

It only is sunny in the morning in our backyard. TBH I always wear thick soled sandals when I'm outside, so no problem there. They make them in a light beige colour as well, which I imagine isn't as hot.

I had a pair of sandals that had rubber tire soles. Where ever I walked I left tread marks. The bad part is one sandal had more tread than the other one and it was slippery at times.
LOL -- I agree with green19, I can't stand yard work. That's what I did today - mowed grass. The good thing is -- my wife was pushing a mower too.

:) Shared work goes twice as quickly & causes 1/2 the resentment.
You know, I don't tend to walk on the patio when it's raining, so no worries there. I did discover on flaw: the smell when the windows are open. Smells like a damn parking lot! LOL
