The Battlestar Pegasus was top of the line and the best type of ships humans had before their downfall....
the pegasus was twise as large than Galactica...much better armed , and newer... more and newier vipers, a viper factury... and better in everything....

Lee wanted to save his father and give a chance for the fleet to Escape.... but why didnt he jumped back before the end....
we know from an episode before that the pegasus was able to sastain 2 nukes attack and survive and the base star ships of the cylons didnt nuked pegasus in her last episode....
so why didnt it escaped? jumped or what ever.... it was a tactic misstake to loose their main battership as an esset...

whould you act the same if you were in lee adam`s shoes?

by the time his fathers ship could jump the pegasus was too damaged to jump away. and the show is called battlestar galatica not battlestar  pegasus.
