We have garter snakes.  That was the first type of snake I ever saw as a kid.  I even touched one.  I thought they were called garden snakes back then!  rolling  Don't know if we have milk snakes tho.

I used to have Slow Worms when I was a kid that set up lodge in my green house. Also went to a nearby field one weekend to find a male for our female but when I got it home rapped around my finger, my dad realized it was an Adder and made me put it down gently at the back of our garden lol
