EUFOR "The Nietzsche" part 1: Weapons Test

The first EU daedalus type battlecruiser “The Nietzsche” had just launched from it subterranean base in Kleine Brogel, Belgium and was preparing for a sub light engines test run to the edge of the solar system. It’s name chosen because of the famous German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche who had declared that man had killed God. The name was deemed fitting for a ship that given the SGC’s luck would probably sooner or later fight the next race of beings that declared themselves god.

Like the Ares before it, she was build after the demise of the Asgard and therefore had their technology fully integrated during construction. With Ori threat gone the asgard core was no longer problematic and it’s functionalities could be fully exploited.

Earth based weapons had been restricted to a minimum choosing the fully take advantage of energy based weapons. The only earth based weapons where the Mark XVII nuclear missiles and a few FN rail guns that served as a ‘screen’ to protect the X304 bays from incoming debris and missiles. Landing bays had often proved to be vulnerable targets in contacts with the wraith and their suicide run. Energy weapons just didn’t have the raw power and spread of a rail guns, they lacked the kinetic impact.

On board the Nietzsche captain Dumont was going over all the new features installed. They would be testing many of them during this first sub light test run while also protecting the system while the other cruisers where in Pegasus attacking Michaels bases. His favorite new systems where the cloaking system and the time shielding software. After the latest incident with Baal all ships came installed with them.

Dumont was rather young to be captain, he was only 32 and had made a fast rise trough the ranks. Unlike most of the military he had grown up with too much love for science fiction and it had earned the nickname “Morden”, a tribute also to his rather dark sense of humour.

After being satisfied that the panels wouldn’t explode upon departure (he had frequently asked his staff to make sure the ship was fully equipped with circuit breakers, earning him the wrath of many techies) he gave the order to get underway.

Nothing happened.

Captain Dumont was just about to ask his first in command Nell O'Farrell what the problem was when he noticed half the bridge was grinning. A second later it sank it what they where waiting for, and now grinning himself he stood up making the famous hand gesture he uttered the words “make it so number one”

Just before a fierce battle took place above P4X-639 . A free jaffa cargo ship and it’s h’tak escort where ambushed by raiders and they where loosing bad. In a desperate attempt to escape the cargo ship entered the planets atmosphere and was heading for the stargate. Just as they where about to ring down however the ship got hit and lost engine control, crashing into a weird looking stone altar.

The same alter had caused a temporal loop that caught 14 Stargates and planets 7 years prior when SG1 encountered an alien scientist tampering with an unsuccessful ancient experiment. After the incident in question the power source of the device had been removed the avoid this from happening againt.

Upon impact the cargo ship, loaded with naquada exploded, and the energy transfer activate the device and as it was destroyed it repeated it’s last executed program stored in the buffer, the gate activate and a surge of energy entered the gate.

Make it so …

The ship surged forward and raced towards the asteroid belt at the edge of earth solar system engaging various systems underway and finally when they reached the field the cloak was engaged.

Suddenly alarms rang, the ship shook violently but no panels exploded. Then the bridge went dark, a few moments later backup power kicked in. Slowly all the system came back online

The asgard core was spitting out strange data too. It showed that the ship had been caught at the edge of a subspace temporal inversion field that had emanated from earth and had enveloped the solar entire system. The Nietzsche had been cloaked at the outer edge and without it temporal shields up was pushed into a deep layer of subspace before exiting on what seemed to be the other side.

Finally the viewer came back online. Before them hang 2 goa’uld mother ship that seemed to be parked in Jupiter’s orbit. They where unaware of the presence of the cloacked Nietzsche.

Dumont ordered to scan both vessels, only the results that came back where very disturbing. The scanned ships where the vessels that had tried to attack earth years before in commanded by apophis himself.

The asgard core chose the same time to inform him of the fact that they apparently where no longer in their own dimension. It subsequently proposed to recreate the events that had brought them there in order to return to there own dimension.

“Decloack and open fire”

The Nietzsche decloaked and opened fire on both vessels, a few seconds later the battle was over and the Nietzsche had killed its first gods. A stunned SG1 was in its hold as the Nietzsche parked itself cloaked in earth orbit and beamed them down to the gate room.

Not braking cloak the Nietzsche left orbit and engaged it’s hyper drive.

Six months later the Nietzsche entered the earth solar system again. Using old access codes it connected to the SGC mainframe and downloaded all information and ship schematics to it.

Then the asgard core engaged it’s corrective pulse and the Nietzsche left for what they believed was home, leaving behind them a dimension that was 100 % goa’uld and Ori proof and with a "succesfull weapons test" report
