Two cast members say their goodbyes as we learn a lot more about Michael and what happened after he left the island

Talk about anti-climatic. After billing someone was GOING TO DIE in this episode in real dramatic fashion, it turns out it was two VERY minor characters. Rousseau (Mira Furlan), who probably isn’t dead, and Karl got the long kiss goodnight on LOST “Meet Kevin Johnson.”

The biggest problem was that it was almost a throw-away, like the producers said, “Well, we haven’t killed anyone off recently and we need to up the stakes in the whole Ben War, so let’s kill off Alex’s (Tania Raymonde) mother and boyfriend!”

The build-up, of course, was the flashback (or flash-middle if you will) for the tortured Michael (Harold Perrineau) which tried to paint Ben off as the “good guy” as the guy wanting to help the stranded people on the island against the evils of Charles Widmore. Ben even goes as far to say that when he is at war, he does everything he can to avoid killing innocents … But did Ben kill Rousseau and Karl.

Or was it the military dudes from the freighter? Didn’t the choppa pilot have a “special” mission to complete? Was that dropping commandos on the island in order to take Alex hostage? That seems more feasible and would be a better story for the whole Ben verses Widmore battle that’s brewing. But does that mean there is a mole in Ben’s group? Does the psychic dude have a way to communicate with the boat or have they been tracking them for a while.

One interesting that this week we find out that Charles Widmore was the one that staged the recovery of Oceanic Flight 815 at least according to the (now dead) Tom Friendly (M.C. Gainey), the henchman Other that loves to live it up in New York including having a Penthouse, after he provided a dossier with dug up graves, purchase orders for plane parts and more. Or did he? Evidence could go either way as we learned last week that the Captain said Ben staged the flight recovery. What’s to believe Ben from Charles Widmore? The helicopter pilot from the military men on the boat? Hard to tell at this point, who staged the flight crash. One thing is for sure … Ben and crew sure love fu**ing with people so I’m not sure if I trust them and it isn’t like Ben and company haven’t lied in the past, right?

Meanwhile, the flashback served to show that Michael wasn’t really doing so hot after leaving the island – something that has been echoed by almost everyone that has left – as after being guilt ridden for killing Ana Lucia and Libby he told Walt all about it and it drove a wedge between them. Depressed from guilt and with his only son against him, Michael tries to commit suicide more than once but something won’t let him die as he “still as work to do” says Tom Friendly. We also got a few guilt glimpses of Libby (Cynthia Watros) who continues to haunt this show even though she’s been dead for years (real time) now. Michael agrees to join the freighter headed for the island after being goated into it by Friendly that says he can redeem himself by killing everyone on board.

At the end, Sayid (Naveen Andrews) drags Michael to the Captain and reveals what he had done to the boat and what his real name was. Where it goes from here? Well we gotta wait until late April because thanks to the writer’s strike all of the new episodes are used up.

Im still a bit lost on this show. They never ask a real question that a person would ask, like Why  do they want to kill  everyone,or why is the Island so inportant, why, why, why

But that's what makes it so riveting.  You can't figure out what anyone will do because they things most of us wouldn't think of doing.  So the show is continually surprising, which is, quite frankly, a very difficult thing for the jaded audiences of today.
