What are you currently paying for gas? I'm paying an average of $4 a gallon. However a dollar saved is a dollar made.

Enjoy - and go buy a beer with the buck you saved. Beer is cheaper than gas!

Won't do Canadian prices.  We are just over $1.20 per litre now.  That's about $6.00/gallon if I remember my conversion.  It's been close to 20 years since gas went metric.  All I know is we are up at least 20 cents a litre since last summer.  angry

So are Canadian prices.  And they keep saying in the media that our gas & food prices have been unrealistically low for years.  It makes for a very scary summer here, tbh.  The thing that really pisses me off is that during these time of sky rocketing gas prices, the oil companies are reporting record profits....AGAIN!!!Jaffa staff :bu:

gas prices is why makes me not want to get a car, ill learn to drive, ill borrow the car, but no way im gonna have a car over my head when gas is 4 bucks a gallon.

getting better at riding my bike, taking it out atleast once a week, but its kinda hard to use for a commute. public transportation so easy, and its 81 bucks a month..... that reminds me, my metro card expired yesturday, need to buy a new one. ugh.

yours is nice & cheap.  Here it's $90.00 for a pass from my place & $73.00 is you only travel downtown essentially.  Plus we have incredibly crappy service.  My bus that I ride to work in the mornings is always standing room only by the time it gets to my stop which means close to an hour of standing, squished in like a sardine.  That is a good thing in a way as there are not enough places to hold onto especially if you are only 5'4" (my height).  There are times I've gone careening from one side of the bus to the other & only didn't get injured through sheer luck (and the nice soft bodies I slammed into).

Oh, and our bus service sucks for how long it takes to get anywhere &  how long you have to wait to get a bus in the first place.

the bus comes every 20mins for Los Christianos and only takes 20mins to get there most days, so I suppose Im lucky that the public transport is so good here.

without a bono card it costs 1.20euros each way but with a pre-paid bono card it only costs 50cents each way and there is always a seat and most of the time I get 2 lol Cheesy

flushing is the first/last stop of most busses, we are a central hub, so if you are early you almost always get a seat. busses and trains, its pretty easy to commute in NYC..

though sometimes its a pain such as last sunday where i had to take 11 trains and 1 bus.

7 train to Gfs house
7 Train to xfer to
F train to xfer to
Q train to wait for friends then take
Q train
Got to where i was going. to get to brooklyn which is south, you have to take the train into manhattan which is west, then south in manhattan, then east into brooklyn....
Q train to Transfer to V train, but v never came
F train, 3 fs passed while waiting for V, decided to get on and wait at next station
F train, again V didnt come, decided to take F to last possoble stop before last xfer to V train but time went on so long decided to scrap plans as was late at this point took f back to
7 Train, train was running in only 1 direction locally, and of course it was the wrong direction had to take it back one stop and transfer to the
7 train, back to flushing and my house then later had to take my girlfriend home
7 train back to her hour
then took the bus home.

i ussually take the train/bus 2ce a day, as i always take my girlfriend home at night, most days i use it more if we go someplace other than flushing.

....think I'm glad I live in a much smaller (population not geography) city than you, Flush.  That & I'm really glad that my hubby doesn't mind driving me wherever I need/want to go & often he will go do the stuff that needs doing so I don't have to go out!!! Cheesy
