That's with my torrents paused, so obviously you guys have a quicker connection.  I guess if you are addicted to d/l porn, you need a faster connection than the one I have.

You have my sympathies strutter.  I've heard nothing but negative stuff from other Aussies I've talked to.  What I don't understand is why you have such bad service.  It's not like there isn't precedent for tons of space not populated by people.  Ever looked at the concentration of people in Canada?  90-95% of the population live within an hour's drive of the US-Canada border, which means a space a number of times bigger than Australia, & yet we still manage it.  Even in remote areas, they still have dialup (which sucks) or satellite (which is crazy expensive).

Mine would be a ton higher if I went for cable, but for me it's not something worth paying the money for.

Upload sucks big time...very odd imo.  

I pay about $50.00/mth & that's average for what I have.  However, what isn't average is the tech support.  Top notch when dealing with an aggravated, non-computer-saavy woman who just wants to connect to the damn thing!!!  They were very calm & walked me thru it & were able to explain what I needed to do, what things looked like, etc, without making me feel as uniformed or incompetent at it as I was.  Top marks for any tech person who can speak in english (instead of techize)!!  Oh, and another bonus is anytime I've called, it's always a human that you connect with.  Good deal, imo.
