I find a decent amount of rivalry between the villains and the good guys to be interesting. Lately it seems like humans are geniuses, and we win every battle. The wraith went from being skilled predators, to big dumb insects. Oh yeah the ultimate solution to the Goauld was to wipe them out of the galaxy The ori? they were wiped out by humans, by flipping a switch. The original Stargate seasons , dealt more with mythology, where as scifi channel seems to want cheesy action. I watch Stargate Atlantis to keep up with events, but it's no way by far a must see.
also SGA gets stuck with stale writing?
I can see the concern for the franchise; look at what happened with StarTrek and Farscape Threshold,Firefly. While the core fans will probably love the show no matter what, the shows do have to grow an audience in order for advertisers to keep signing on. No money, no show. Some writers definitely should take a bow and MGM should hire the new writers with entirely FRESH minds.
Got to agree with it, need new writers that could put out something else than episode by episode story. I too, liked the mythology thing insert in the story like before season 8 of sg-1 did. Also I don't feel anymore the tension the franchise was giving in episode, while the possibility of losing was really present. Like you said human always win.
I know i'm a bit late to discuss it but I have'nt got time since recently to watch the episodes, so I was accumulating 'em. So far i'm at the 12th and hope not being deceive with the 12 to 18 last ones.
