ABC has given a pilot order to V, a reimagining of the 1980s miniseries about an alien invasion, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Written on spec by The 4400 co-creator/executive producer Scott Peters, the new V will center on a female Homeland Security agent.

Peters is executive-producing the pilot with HDFilms principal Jason Hall.

This is the second ABC pilot picked up so far based on a 1980s property; the first was The Witches of Eastwick. Both are being produced by Warner Brothers TV.

It's unclear if this proposed series has anything to do with original V creator Kenneth Johnson's sequel novel, V: The Second Generation, or his proposed reboot series or a proposed spinoff series by Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski.

I'm wondering why is JMS doing this while he can revive the unfinished parts of Curasde?? Why is this??? Don't get me wrong this show was great but it's been a while, and the show close down on it's own. Will this be an other remake??? GTO

Could be.  I think they are just hoping they can follow on the success that was BSG.  V was hugely popular when it was on, so they have the name recognition.  It wasn't a popcorn series like the original BSG, so I don't know what they can possibly do to "re-imagine" it.

rolling Can't remember doing that, but then again I'm a wee bit older than you.  I do remember The Twilight Zone freaking me out when it aired (the original).

Jaws never scared me because I was always on the sharks side lol

Animals have more brains than most of the humans I have met over the years, give them opposable thumbs and most humans would be screwed  Rofl

LOL  I'd love to see how you would feel if you were being chased by a great white!!

Actually the thing that scared me most in Jaws was the scene where they are inspecting that boat in the water & I think it's Brody under the water & he swims underneath it & a face pops up in the hole in the boat.  Makes me jump EVERY time I watch it. :)
