The story contains spoilers for the "Battlestar Galactica" episode "No Exit."

So who is this 13th Cylon, and will we ever see him again?

Speculation on the Internet is running rampant, just when the days of trying to figure out who the final Cylon seemed to be at an end. But there is a possibility -- and a strong one -- that this could be the end of the Daniel discussion just as it begins, at least that's what "Battlestar Galactica" executive producer Ronald D. Moore shared with fans during his weekly episode podcast.

"This little mystery we were able to mine out of the [Cylon] numbering system," Moore said. "We always said there were 12 Cylon models, but we had posited Sharon as a Number Eight. That was before we came up with the idea of the Final Five, and five plus eight does not equal 12, so how could that have been?"

That prompted discussions of whether or not there should be a 13th Cylon, and maybe just one more reveal. But Moore didn't want to turn the franchise in that direction.

"We put a pin in the idea of the 13th Cylon as I didn't want to create another, 'Who is the final Cylon?' and create false mysteries on that front," he said.

But what that bit of retcon created was some backstory for Dean Stockwell's John Cavil, and allowed the entire "Battlestar" mythology to borrow more from Biblical passages and ideas.

"Cavil wiped out an entire model, creating a Cain and Abel moment of this myth," Moore said. "Creation, exodus and all those Biblical themes. This is Cain vs. Abel, and slipping that in there to understand Cavil's character a little more clearly."

Bringing Kate Vernon back to portray Ellen as the final Cylon seems to work for Moore, especially that she now possesses the knowledge she didn't quite have before on the history of the Cylons, and the history of the Final Five.

"I liked the idea we were going to see a different Ellen," Moore said. "We didn't want her to be a completely different Ellen Tigh. She likes to drink and smoke and fuck. She's a slightly different person, she's not some idiot. She really is one of the Final Five Cylons. She has their knowledge and the intelligence we haven't had before."

That insight also seems to be garnered about how her "children" like Cavil turned out.

"There's something dark at the heart of John Cavil," Moore said. "What does that say about Ellen and Tigh and the rest of the Final Five? The seeds of their own destruction seems to be carried in all the characters that will ultimately harm them in some way."

And the cracks in the ship? It's going to take more than some biological resin to fix it, Moore said.

"The cracks in the hull, the cracks in the ship, is one of the threads that will take us to the end," he said. "This is definitely a sort of beginning of the end. This storyline will continue quite some time, and how it impacts the rest of the show is fascinating."

Leave comments Please?? Who was this Daniel??? And those that are spoiler Weak Warning.

So Who Is 'Battlestar Galactica's' Daniel?

This story may contain spoilers of the "Battlestar Galactica" episode "No Exit."

A very interesting revelation was made during Friday's airing of "Battlestar Galactica," and Starbuck was there to hear it.

Anders, while suffering from some severe brain trauma from the bullet he received in "Blood on the Scales," revealed that there were not 12 models like Number Six claimed in the miniseries. But there were, in fact, 13.

What happened to this other Cylon, who is now known as Number Seven?

The facts presented in the episode are not fully detailed. What we learned is that he came after Tricia Helfer's character of Number Six, and before Grace Park's character of Number Eight. Could this have been a way to explain why Grace's Cylon was Number Eight, even though there was a "Final Five"? Who knows ... but now there's a seventh Cylon we haven't met.

Anyway, Number Seven was known as "Daniel," who liked to paint, and who Ellen Tigh was very close to. The problem, however, was that Cavil got a little jealous, and when they were growing the clones of Daniel, he messed up the embryonic fluid, and the line was destroyed.

Does that mean Daniel is still out there? We can't tell you. We're not a spoiler site anymore. But it doesn't mean we can't speculate.

Is this something that will be revealed in this series, maybe with him as the puppetmaster of everything going on (or at least possibly coming in the form of Head Six, Head Baltar and Head Leoben, who also has been screwing around with Starbuck's mind?) Or is this nothing more than a tease and a throwback to the past ... or in our case, the future, like the upcoming "Battlestar Galactica" spinoff "Caprica."

There, the "creator" of the Cylons is one Daniel Graystone. Ellen seemed to like to name the skin jobs after people she knew, so it's likely that Graystone was still alive when the Final Five arrived in the Twelve Colonies, and it could just be a namesake. Or could we already have met him?

Battlestar Wiki reveals that we have met two people with the name "Daniel" or some form of it in the series so far.

The first worth noting was from the episode "Hero" named Bulldog. Well, that what his call sign. His real name was Lt. Daniel Novacek. He was a pilot on the Battlestar Valkyrie, a ship which at the time was commanded by Cmdr. William Adama. He ends up being captured by the Cylons, runs into the skin jobs, and would later come back into the fleet in a rather forgettable episode.

It seems unlikely that this is the Daniel anyone is looking for as he doesn't seem to match any of the other clues given about his identity.

But there is one other "Daniel" that does. His name is Daniel Noon, and he made one appearance on the series in the very amazing episode "Dirty Hands." There isn't much of a bio for this character, played by Bryce Hodgson, on Battlestar Wiki, but there is enough there to jog the memory.

If you remember, Daniel was a young man who became a victim of a summer job, where he worked on a farm. Because of that, he was drafted into working on the fuel refinery ship.

He didn't want to go, because he's not really a farmer like his short bio said ... he was an architect. You know, someone who has to be an artist to do?

Daniel Noon was written as a minor character in "Dirty Hands," but the producers of "Battlestar Galactica" have proven time and again their love to go back to previous episodes, pick up little tidbits here and there they can use in the overall plan, and work it in. How do we know that Daniel Noon is not part of that?

Of course, there is also a chance that we may have met this Cylon, and his or her name isn't Daniel at all. I mean, how many names did Number Six have?

The only other clues we can get is looking at the name "Daniel" itself. According to another wiki source, Wikipedia, "Daniel" comes from Judeo-Christian scripture, and is an English form of a Hebrew name, which translates to "Judged by God." Can't be a lot of coincidence there, correct?

Daniel was known in the Bible to interpret dreams, and also had a hand in restoring his people to their homeland ... is that something that Daniel already is doing on "Battlestar Galactica" Interpreting (or becoming involved in) dreams? Will he also help restore humanity to their home?

Don't look at us for the answers. We're sure they'll be coming in the final episodes of "Battlestar Galactica," which airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on SciFi Channel.

I wonder if they can remake him again, the specks must be somewhere in the base ship's.Will Kara play an other role yet as Anders said?? Let's put a bullet in any of the others brain's that way they could remember. GTO
