Yesterday i saw Serenity in the cinema.
It maybe wonder you, but i live in Germany and the Premiere was last week.
I found it pretty awesome. It has all what the series has (like killing cliches), but with more budget, couldn't ask for more.
Anyone here seen it and want to discuss it? If not, don't want to spoil it for you.

Regards,

R.

The movie is a blast! It had the combination of tragic we could expect from Joss Whedon.
Every minute was spent wisely to show new aspects of the Firefly universe. Despite the deaths of two main characters I was very satisfied with the ending.
Perhaps this movie will be the last Firefly adventure but in my opinion it would also be a nice conclusion of the series.

not frankeinstieing... but no there are no plans to bring firefly back.. most of the cast have moved on to other things and new series, although Joss has stated that after he finishes with wonderwomen he might do 2 more serenity type movies.

Isn't it a pity that the best sci-fi shows get canceled after one series.

Yes PB but then to them it's not about scifi or the love of a good show.
They just don't give a damn.
It's all about money and for how much they can screw the public.

that is sooo true.  but the amount of loyal fans and the amount of money the fans were willing to put in to up a 2nd season shouold have been enough.. Acutlly really i think it's all about sci-fi.  I mean truthfully, there have only ever been a few "sucessful" sci-fi and by that i mean well known sci-fis outside the sci-fi fandom/population.  I can only truely name 5 that have stood the test of time.
Star-trek (but then again how many acutally know all the incarnations - i certainly don't)
Doctor Who
Stargate
X-files

Maybe Battlestar Gallatica

I'm not counting recent shows like supernatural cause it's new and it needs time to stand the test of time.

I got it out on dvd a while ago and thoguht it was great. I hadn't watched all of the sries though, and it was helpful that the movie and stand on it's own and not just rely on those who were fans of the series. Hope they make another movie.
