'Lost' Ending Still Undecided

If there is ever a show that has you sitting on the edge of your sofa wondering what the heck is going on, it is most definitely "Lost." And although the ABC series is promising answers, there will never be enough conclusions to completely satisfy the rabid fanbase that the castaway-turned-time-traveling drama has amassed over the last five years.

But that is certainly not something that is putting the show's producers off from telling their very individual and unique story. Far from it, in fact, as co-creator Damon Lindelof teases that the final destination is already set in stone and only the route is to be determined.

"We can't let those expectations terrify us," Lindelof told Variety. "The reality is, we've known what the series finale is going to be for a while now. The path that we take to the end still has some room for surprises and changes and discoveries along the way [in terms of] the characters' journeys and how their relationships evolve."

One of the most burning questions that fans are dying to know the answer to is not where the show will end, but instead when. No details have been forthcoming on if the series will remain rooted in the disco age of Dharma or if the survivors of Oceanic 815 will ever make it back to the present day. Given the diverse opinions on the direction the latest season has taken, everyone is preparing for a mixed reaction comparable to "The Sopranos" scale.

"The immediate aftermath of any beloved series, whether it be 'Battlestar Galactica,' 'The Sopranos' or 'Seinfeld,' is so overwhelming that it's incredibly hard to distance yourself from the creative choices made leading up to it," Lindelof said.

How will the final episode of the show turn out? Well, if the producers have their way (and they probably will), "Lost" will provide enough satisfaction to wrap up the series in a final way while at the same time leave fans gagging for more.

"When we say more, we don't mean answers," he clarified. "Because hopefully, the show will wrap up in an incredibly satisfying way, both mythologically and emotionally."

"Lost" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

indeed,4 a show which they didn't have any plot lines except them being stranded on an island and they kept making things up from episode to episode :)
ofc they are at a lost with the finale :)
