The prospects of saving the world's coral reefs now appear so bleak that plans are being made to freeze samples to preserve them for the future.

A meeting in Denmark took evidence from researchers that most coral reefs will not survive even if tough regulations on greenhouse gases are put in place.

Scientists proposed storing samples of coral species in liquid nitrogen.

That will allow them to be reintroduced to the seas in the future if global temperatures can be stabilised.

Legislators from 16 major economies have been meeting in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, to try to agree the way forward on climate change.

The meeting has been organised by the Global Legislators Organisation for a Balanced Environment (Globe).

Run for your life. The sky is falling.

If you listen to all the scientists, everything is doomed. We are all going to die. This afternoon.I remember Gran Pa Kosh used to say  " Follow the money " That way you know who your fishing with. He's is either a blind idiot or a paid stooge. I suspect both. Some of these things are man made ( For the rich People )   (Golf courses)   Where is all that fertilizer will end up???? Yup in the sea.

Frankly I don't think it is a bad idea to constantly buy stuff only to throw it out.  Recycling as much as you can is a good thing imo.  However, I do agree with you Kosh, that this gets blown out of proportion.  I just wish that there was some way that the truth could get presented.  Problem is, even if we did have the truth it wouldn't matter.  Big business has the final say it what happens to our planet.
