SOUTHFIELD, Mich. | Nearly a year after voters in this economically disadvantaged state overwhelmingly passed a ballot initiative approving the consumption of medicinal marijuana, a new trade school has opened its doors to educate aspiring growers.

Med Grow Cannabis College, located in the Detroit suburb of Southfield, is set to graduate its first class of students later this month. Its co-founder and president, Nick Tennant, the 24-year-old son of a General Motors Corp. employee, said he sees a significant opportunity to teach standards and safety in an industry that can eventually.

If medical marijuana is to be taken seriously as a therapeutic modality, it need to sheds the stoner image.  Primal Shadow
This school is a step in the right direction. No doubt. It is only profitable if you know what you're doing. Like any farmer you need experience and some luck, too. Some years are better than others, some years you just work your ass off for the spider mites or thieves. I've seen bud rot turn money into mush over night. Fire ants, rippers, rabbits, rats (both kids), hermis, leaf mold, mildew, late-season rain, unseasonable temperatures, G-men...the hazards are many.Damn i sound like I'm an Expert, However Neo is the resident expert  Rofl  Cough...
So I belief $300 for an ounce is dirt cheap.

Then again, some years you put $800 into 12 plants and pull 17 pounds GTO

The medical stuff they allow here is actually a lot weaker than the stuff you can buy from the next door college kid, or so I've been told.  Something tells me that there will always be a black market....
