Whedon: With 'Dollhouse' Gone, Time For Binge Drinking

There isn't a lot for Joss Whedon to say, apparently.

The writing had been on the wall from the very first episode this season: "Dollhouse" was not going to have a long life if its audience didn't like triple in later episodes.

The creator of the show that Fox canceled on Wednesday said he was extremely proud of everyone involved in the production, including star Eliza Dushku, the staff, the rest of the cast, and the crew.

"I feel the show is getting better pretty much every week, and I think you'll agree in the coming months," Whedon wrote on the popular Whedonesque Web site. "I'm grateful that we got to put it on, and then come back and put it on again."

So what will Whedon do now? That answer is easy. He had already been planning it last season when everyone was writing the eulogy for his show.

"I'm off to pursue Internet ventures/binge drinking," Whedon said. "Possibly that relaxation thing I've read so much about. By the time the last episode airs, you'll know what my next project is. But for now, there's a lot of work still to be done, and disappointment to bear."

Whedon will have a lot to do. He's set to direct an episode of one of his favorite Fox shows that is not "Dollhouse," a small show called "Glee." He also is working to do a sequel to his Emmy-winning Web event, "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog."

Either way, Whedon promises there will be more of him.

"Thank you for all your support, your patience, your excellent adverts," he said. "See you again."

"Dollhouse" returns Dec. 4, and airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. Its series finale is set for Jan.






Well...Well Binge drinking??? Well why doesn't he not invite us also?? We had to sit and watch this.I bet Petay will travel, Primal will steal a plane ticket    ,Neo will say he's going to UK to visit the family while he's here in Hollywood    ,as for Evil one?? Well he may not be binge drinking    .Archangle.Hell he will be there.Rubbing elbow with the movie     hotties wannabes,He Joss will have to introduce us.As his Geek writers     Well perhaps Elizha may show up.I can't go, because i Have Kids.......

You guys may have sat thru it, but I cba right from the get go.  I loved Buffy & Angel, but after that, I haven't liked anything he's done.

Not Firefly? That's the best thing he's done, IMHO.

I haven't seen Dollhouse yet. Sounds silly, but I'll give it a try when I have time.

We tried Firefly & detested it.  I figured it would be fab given how great Buffy was, but I was thoroughly bored & so was my hubby.

Buffy was good, Angel was good but Firefly was great for me!

Dollhouse was very so, so. the only reason I watched it was to see Eliza`s tooshie lol (No shock there  )

  Not at all.  I do remember those photos Kosh (in all likelihood it was him!!) posted of her in that white lace stocking outfit!!
