[Update: A tearful Walter Koenig appeared at a press conference Thursday evening to confirm that a body found earlier in the day in Vancouver's Stanley Park was that of his son, missing Growing Pains actor Andrew Koenig, the Los Angeles Times reported. "My son took his own life," Walter Koenig said, wife Judy at his side.]

Sad news in the case of Star Trek actor Walter Koenig's missing son, Andrew: CTV and other sources are reporting that Vancouver police have found a body in that city's Stanley Park, and they believe it may be the missing man.

Here's CTV's report:

Vancouver police say the body was discovered around noon Thursday.

A press conference has been scheduled for 5 p.m. Koenig's family, who travelled to Vancouver to help with the search, is expected to attend.

Earlier in the day, Walter Koenig (Chekov on the original Star Trek) and his wife, Judy, walked off the set of CNN's Larry King Show before their live segment aired. Could it be they had just received the shocking news?

Walter Koenig's Trek co-star William Shatner tweeted his own condolences after the news broke:

William Shatner: My deepest sympathies to Andrew Koenig's family. I will grieve with them.

Our hearts go out to the Koenigs.  Core is Father,Core is Mother
