It’s official. Tax Cannabis 2010, the most far-reaching state effort ever, which would legalize the consumption of cannabis for all adults over 21 — and would finally take the industry that serves those consumers out of a legal gray area — will qualify for the November mid-term ballot later today.
The Tax Cannabis campaign gathered just under 700,000 signatures, well over the 434,000 needed to qualify for the California ballot.

Will this be followed up by a bunch of new laws which mirror current alcohol law? No smoking MJ in public? Public intoxication? Providing MJ to a minor? New driving under the influence laws? Let the games begin.
If there is a $50 per ounce tax as the Orange County Register suggested that would serve to further the black market and create the need to have an increase in "revenoo'ers." If the tax started out low like it did with cigarettes then the value of legitimacy would undercut the black market to a large degree. Some would say $50 an oz is nothing. Would gladly pay the taxes to eliminate that paranoia side effect! But what do you Potheads think??????

Exeron??
