# "Divided" was originally intended to be the mid-season premiere of Stargate Universe, following "Space" as the second half of a two-parter. When "Darkness" and "Light" were expanded to two episodes, "Divided" was bumped back to the number 12 spot.
# "My writing partner Paul continues work on 'Divided.' According to him, there's a lot of story and he fears the script may go long. Which would be par for the course."
(Writer-producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)
# "We're in extreme circumstances. And there have been moments where there's a bit of a divide. And there's an episode called 'Divided.' There is a big divide and there's a reconciliation where we're like, wait a minute, we're in this together. It's a relationship, it's a family."
(Actress Alaina Huffman, in an interview with Blast)
# "Yesterday, we watched the director's cut of 'Divided' (Episode #12). It's tight! First-time Stargate director Felix Alcala hits a home run, directing a riveting and incredibly compelling episode scripted by my fellow producer and writing partner Paul Mullie. Tense, thrilling, occasionally surprising, with some wonderful moments for all of our cast members."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)
# "Yes, producer edits of 'Space,' episode #11, which I wrote, and 'Divided,' episode #12, that Paul wrote. Both are going to be great and while 'Space' will no doubt get the most online buzz in the lead-up to its air date (for reasons that will become readily apparent as more hints about this episode are released), I think 'Divided' is the one that really sings. It is taut, suspenseful, filled with intrigue, and offers up some terrific dramatic performances by many of our cast."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)
# "Quite a few of you want to see more of Eli Wallace (David Blue), find out a little more about how his mother is doing, and see the character mature a little over the course of his incredible adventure aboard Destiny. Check, check, and check although, admittedly, the latter requires us to walk a fine line between having the character mature over the course of his experiences yet keeping him the grounded, fish-out-of-water the viewer can continue to identify with.
"There are many challenges ahead for the young genius, not the least of which being his uncertain positioning in the ongoing tug-o-war between two diametrically opposed father figures: Young and Rush. Remember that last scene in 'Justice' where Eli goes to visit Young after Rush has been left behind? You figure he suspects something's up?"
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)
# "One thing you are going to see is the divide being to form onboard the ship between the military and the civilians and surprisingly enough my character turns out to be a part of the creating of the division. And I think some pretty big stuff happens to her right off the bat which changes her in ways that aren't apparent at first but reveal themselves over time. And we're going to see I think her sort of lose herself a bit and sort of searching to find her place on the ship more and more and starting to lose trust in the people that she used to trust and count on sort of maybe some crossing over to the other side, if you will.
"... What happens in the first episode that kick-jumps the back half, something happens to my character and another character on the ship which sets in motion the inevitable division. Well, actually something happens at the end of the first [half-]season that really is the reason behind the division. But I think people are going to be surprised by the choice that Chloe makes and the side that she ends up falling on because based on the beginning of the series, it's the side you would least expect her to agree with."
("Chloe Armstrong" actress Elyse Levesque, in an interview with 411Mania.com)
I liked the show to some extend,I was surprise that after the COUP , things will go as nothing has happen. The one guy was right that this isn't over, they will continue to do this as the oriental woman said" The army listen to the civilian into doing what needed to be done.At least they broad a doctor this time to work on Rush.Wonder why they can't bring more Ancient engineers to Bring that ship up to it's full potential. With more power storage for when weapon needed to be used. Also they need a clear chain on command on that ship for when shooting start.Instead of back biting, perhaps that is the push of the show BACK BITING AND BACK STABBING.
