Boxleitner the first star to sign up for this sci-fi horror movie

Bruce Boxleitner, best known for his work in "Babylon 5" and "Tron Legacy," will star as a military hero in Syfy's Saturday original movie project "51."

Boxleitner portrays a military hero nearing retirement in this sci-fi horror flick.

According to the official press release, the film "chronicles what happens after political pressure from the American public forces the Air Force to allow a few well-known reporters limited access to the most secretive base on the planet: Area 51, the rumored repository of captured alien technology and extra-terrestrial beings."

That will lead, according to Syfy, to one hidden "visitor" unleashing the alien captives, turning the famed military base into "a horrifying destination of terror."

"51" is a co-production with independent studio After Dark Films, and will be directed by Jason Connery. It joins a growing roster of Syfy original movies.

It will co-star John Shea, best known for his work in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," and "Mutant X."

Boxleitner has been busy since his "Babylon 5" days, with guests spots on various shows including "Heroes" and "Chuck" on NBC. He's set to reprise his role of Alan Bradley in "Tron Legacy," the followup to the popular and cult classic 1982 film.

Syfy will premiere "51" in 2011.

Sounds like a basic ripoff of Resident Evil/Doom/etc, etc.

Not high on my "must see" list.

The Worm is the Spice, there is only one source of melange: the sands of the planet Arrakis, colloquially known as Dune.
