It's official: Chuck gets a 5th season (but The Event is history)  ( And yet for me this show Chuck is sooo unbelievable, however yet these stays )

There had been some hope that ABC might give "V" a reprieve and give it a chance for one more season, but it ended up not happening.

ABC cancelled both "V" and freshman genre series "No Ordinary Family" Friday, taking two science-fiction series off the network schedule.

While fans will be upset about "V," there shouldn't be much surprise. "V" was averaging a 3.3 rating/5 share, according to Fast National ratings from The Nielsen Co. That's 38 percent lower than last year when "V" just barely avoided the cancellation ax.

"V" was network television's fourth highest-rated genre program, but is ranked No. 76 overall through the end of April.

But every genre show (outside of "Fringe") is in trouble, if it's not already gone. "No Ordinary Family" averaged a 4.0/6 and was the genre's highest-rated show. While it did better than "V" (and everything else networks offered genre-wise), it was ranked No. 60 overall as of the end of April.

"No Ordinary Family" debuted with a 6.3/10 back in September, but would lose a good chunk of its audience, its finale drawing only a 3.8/6. However, ratings had fallen as low as a 2.7 household rating, half the show's premiere audience.

NBC also said it was saying good-bye to "The Event," although it appears that the network will keep "Chuck."

"The Event" averaged a 3.6/5 on Mondays, 12 percent better than what NBC did in the timeslot last year. However, that average was inflated a bit by the 6.8/10 premiere the show received, an audience that quickly departed to under a 3.0 household rating since March.

the only network genre shows looking like they will return right now are "Fringe" on Fox, "Chuck" on NBC and "Vampire Diaries" on The CW. There is a chance that "Supernatural" will get another season, but the show is currently on the bubble after losing 20 percent of its audience from last year since its move to Fridays.

The Cape was like watching M*A*S*H in comparison to the utter lack of decent writing, note i said decent and not even good,or great that was The Event. The writers on The Event were some of the worst I have ever seen. They had no clue how to write cops or anything, let alone an interesting story. They can't write themselves out of a wet brown paper bag,let alone a descent story line.

Chuck is too PG and child-targeted for adults to enjoy. It's writing is stupid and the jokes are anti-funny. I guess we could all say this : every scifi show is getting cancelled HOORAY!
The Event but I have a feeling that it, like so many other shows, would have been renewed if it weren't for the ridiculously long hiatus. Almost no show can survive a 3-month long hiatus in the middle of a story line.

Shows need to be 10-13 episodes per season and shown back-to-back. The audience will get a much tighter story with little to no filler that will entice them to comeback 8 months later. It will also give studios a lot more time to produce a better show and allow for twice as many shows within a year. Any story driven show would greatly benefit from this type of format. Sad to hear about The Event. It was a fantastic show and really revved up AFTER its hiatus. That was the problem, IMHO, it was just ok before the 3 mo. break, then viewers failed to return, but those that stuck with it were rewarded.

It is an intelligent show with clever plot twists and political machinations. It's not for people who enjoy simplicity and a lot of explosions.

I encourage all my peeps here to give it a shot. I hope it lives on. Long live The Event!

I liked the Event but as usual the network & there stupid ass schedule screwed it up again...

Look at Supernatural they have given it a week off to do a double ep next week??? Why the Fuck didnt the just do the double this week so fans didnt have to wait an extra week??? I think they should sack the fecking lot of them and let the fans run the networks!!!
Wrestling ok far to many retards do watch it so welcome to the god awfull Tuesday night slot! I guess most of its fans are on welfare anyway so they wont know or care what day of the week it is from one day to the next.....

Reality shows baa Keep American Chopper & Suns of Guns the rest BYEEEEE fuck off, the people who watch the rest really need the extra time to get a fecking life anyways
Infact they should do like the news HAVE THERE OWN REALITY ONLY CHANNEL SO THE ONES WHO WANT TO TURN THERE MIND TO MUSH CAN SIT IN THE CORNER DRIBBLING WATCHING WANKERS MAKE AN ASS OF THEMSELVES.........

Just goes to show you what the sheeple want are pointless shows that don't take much brainpower to follow and grasp. They can sit their on their arse and laugh at mildly pointless jokes that somehow I cant even laugh at when smoking the weeee . Sci-fi is just to hard for many to grasp and reality shows make up most of the T.V. real estate and the networks know this and can profit from this Bottom line.
