Greetings.
I watched Allies, 2 times today. It's definitely not the best ep of the season.
It was so predictable. And it showed how humans are dumb! (yes, you can all shout 'good grief!'! Please do shout!)
The only good about this episode is that it's full of characters. The Heepapheralcus (Orion) is included too. However, its role will be clear only in the next ep. Yeah - to be continued. (shout again - "Good Grief!")
To women - The Wraith Queen's dress is marvellous. You'll enjoy it.
Beware spoilers (scroll down)
- the moment the wraith sent the databurst, the viewer is fully aware of the risk of contamination computer virus. Weir asked for a non-networked firewalled computer. If a computer is non-networked, how can one transfer the data there from the mainframe directly. No one copied the data on a crystal or flash card to be transferred to the computer. And a non-networked computer won't need a firewall unless there are plans to connect it to a network later. Moreover, the wraith virus cannot be 'cleaned' by Atlantis current systems unless one wants to wipe everything out.- Can one trust the Wraith? Weir, Shepp, Caldwell and the rest of the team decided to trust the wraith. This is the dumbest act ever! It's as if the expedition had never read SG1 mission reports.
At least, they could have asked Hermiod's opinion!
- The McKay-Hermiod scenes were cool.
- This ep. was so predictable that all viewers have already assumed that
Sheppard did almost exactly like Solo. Solo sticked the Millenium Falcon on the Empire's ship and jumped away before the Empire's ship entered lightspeed mode.I assume that Sheppard did the same but instead, he jumped with the hive ship. It will up to him to save Ronan and McKay. Of course, this is just my assumption but I bet it's right (too bad I'll have to wait for the 2nd part to know).
- Season 2 is over and yet we don't know Wraith names!
- The Wraith Queen has a tatoo on her neck and part of her face. (View pics) It was damn predictable that she would kill the wraith who turned human.
- The Dedalus is damaged. I assume that Caldwell will take command of the Orion and hunt down the 2 Wraith ships headed for Earth. Maybe, if they do make it to Milky Way, the Odissey and the Korelev will also be here to greet them.
- When the wraith small transport ship landed in Atlantis, the shots did not include the Dedaelus. We can assume that it was up, ready to fire in case of problems.
- The Ronan and Teyla scenes with Michael are not so intense. The entire scene was predictable.
- Elizabeth is taking sedatives which were prescribed by Beckett.
- Why were no jumpers used?! F302s do have lots of firepower. However, there could have been a sentence such as 'Jumpers will remain cloaked and they will be scanning closely the hive ships, and be ready to target the hive ship's hyperdrive...'
- And of course, the Zelenka and Beckett Show works extremely well.
- The wraith now have the Aurora mission reports and the location of every world in the Atlantis database. - Good Grief!

----- The 'to be continued' on the black screen really sucked!
I wish you all.
Best regards,
AncientNET (currently wondering if a Babylon 5 character like Londo Mallori would be a nice addition to the Atlantis expedition)
P.S
Am I the only one who believes that there should have been a prequel? - It would seem that lots of decisions had been taken after 'inferno' ep. It would not hurt to have a normal ep of a normal day at Atlantis.
I would add that the 3D model and rendering of the city and ships (when inside atmosphere) looked like some cheap display. For example - Where are the reflections from mirrors? - They could have used more layers and made the transport ship and the city more realistic.
It seemed that EA (maker of NFSMW) could have done a better job at rendering the city.
