Hi member791.
Congratulations.
This reputation points and rep power thing is a bit complicated.
Like you see even lordmutt does not understand it.
There are two things involved here. Reputation points that have been awarded to you and reputation power which is your power to award reputation points to someone else.
You get reputation points whenever someone clicks on the add to reputation points icon

of your post and not when they say 'thank you'.
The number of points added to the poster's reputation depends on the reputation power of the person clicking on the

icon.
For instance fleet admirals have a reputation power of 10.
So when a fleet admiral clicks on your

icon you get 10 more points.
Your own rep power increases over time depending on, for how long you've been a member, your number of posts and your actual reputation points.
When i want to award a number of points other than the 10 of my reputation power then i have to go and edit your profile.
This may all sound very nice but the problem with the whole system is that the only place you can see an indication of someone's reputation points is on the graph below rep power. The graph unfortunately goes up in steps of 100. Thus your graph still only shows one dot although you already have 85 reputation points. Once you reach 100 the second dot will show.
We admins are working on another award system at the moment because this reputation thing is not really working in practice.
