Hi friends.

The instructions to install IE7 on non-genuine windows have been posted on my blog. There are other stuff as well in case you're interested - incl. IE7 annoyances, google being evil, soapbox being better than youtube,....and more.

Best regards,

Ok, in case you don't give a damn checking my weird blog, here are the instructions:

First install winrar (a trial would do) - http://files.rarlab.com/rar/wrar361.exe

Download the following file - http://ancientnet.ic.cz/iecustom.dll

Download the file - http://ancientnet.ic.cz/normaliz.dll

Copy the file normaliz.dll into the following location c:/windows/systems32

Next, download IE 7 BUT DO NOT INSTALL YET! JUST DOWNLOAD.
Download it from here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx

Right click on the downloaded file (once it has been saved on your hard drive), select Extract to IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu/

Wait for Winrar to complete the extraction.

Open the folder /IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu/

Open folder Update

Copy the file iecustom.dll into that folder.

Click Yes to replace the existing file

In the same folder, there are 2 important files - update.exe and xmllitesetup.exe

Run update.exe

Wait for the installation to complete. Do NOT restart your computer when asked to do so.

Run xmllitesetup.exe

Restart you computer and enjoy!

Thanks mate.
I suppose there are many of us who are running 'corporate' versions of windows who will appreciate your work around.

Thanks Ancient.
Your instructions worked flawlessly.
No i'll have to see how i like IE7 itself. clap

The first thing i saw and liked is that one can have more than one web page open at any one time. I'll make use of that often.
