When I had dial-up I preffered 40mb, but now, when I like the show and want to burn it on DVD I like the 350Mb size. There are some shows I just want to watch once and then delete them so size about 90mb to 150mb is good enough.

I base my preference on how much I like a show. If I like it then 350mbs for a 40ish minute episode is perfectly acceptable. If the show is middle of the road, then 170mbs id fine. If it is a show that I'll only watch if I have nothing better to do then 90mbs is fine. For movies, 650mb-700mb is ok.

Peace

wow, this would have been exactly the way of my thought  if I had express it before you Wink

I went for the 90mb option because I dont have bandwidth restrictions but Im also on a 3mb connection which changes its mind daily here.

This means I can d/l the 90`s to watch in the evening, and torrent the things I like and burn the complete series at the end.

90mb is ok for a recorded show off the tv it is good on file size, bandwith, and it looks good. Now if i was looking for a show riped from a dvd i would expect to have it in a 350mb file size for archiving.

350MB for a +/- 42 min show is my choice
175MB for a +/- 22 min show is my choice
700MB - 1.5GB for a Movie is my choice

I can't stand RMVB - My DivX DVD Player doesn't support the format,
and it takes way to long to convert from RMVB to AVI

i vote for 350 dont see much difference in quaility over that for most 43 minute shows and the 22 minutes shows 175 would work very well there
