Following the announcement Friday by Joss Whedon that he is no longer working on the proposed "Wonder Woman" movie, another movie about a DC Comics hero is now in limbo.

Writer David Goyer revealed in his latest blog that he is no longer involved with "The Flash."

"Well, I've been waiting a few months to relate this news -- but I am sad to say that my version of 'The Flash' is dead at [Warner Bros.]," Goyer wrote. "The God's honest truth is that WB and myself simply couldn't agree on what would make for a cool 'Flash' film. I'm quite proud of the screenplay I turned in. I threw my heart into it and I genuinely think it would've been the basis of a ground-breaking film. But as of now, the studio is heading off in a completely different direction."

According to a rumor report on the IESB Web site, it appears as if "The Flash" will be shelved for the time being, but that "Wonder Woman" -- despite losing its writer and director -- has been put on the fast track with a new director to be announced soon.

As for the fate of "Wonder Woman," Joel Silver said he is very impressed with the Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland speculative script purchased this week by Warner Bros., and they are in the process of being brought aboard as the new writers of the movie. Official announcements of the change can be expected shortly, he said.
