Is it possible that ABC's new timeslot for "Lost" may not be working? It's that or previous fans of the show have found something

Is it possible that ABC's new timeslot for "Lost" may not be working? It's that or previous fans of the show have found something better to do on a Wednesday night after the show posted its lowest ratings for a new episode ... ever.

Love definitely was not in the air for a Valentine's Day broadcast of the show in the 10 p.m. slot, with "Lost" earning just a 7.6 rating/12 share. Even worse, the episode didn't even have a chance against CBS' "CSI: NY," which picked up a 9.4/15, according to Fast Nationals from Nielsen Media Research.

"Lost's" rating was well below the 8.5/14. However, lower numbers -- probably from many couples out celebrating Cupid's arrival -- were experienced across the board with "CSI: NY" down almost the same percentage as "Lost" compared to a week ago.

A repeat of "Lost," which aired the hour before, did CW-like numbers with a 3.2/5, well behind the 16.1/24 earned by Fox's "American Idol" and "Criminal Minds" on CBS (9.6/14). NBC's game show hit "Deal or No Deal" was really no match to Fox's karaoke reality show, finishing third with a 6.3/9, according to Zap2it.

For the night, it was no surprise that "American Idol"-powered Fox would win the night with an 11.8/18. CBS, behind "Criminal Minds" and "CSI: NY" finished second with an 8.0/13, and ABC was fourth with a 4.9/8, getting no additional help from "Beauty and the Geek," the finale of that reality series that barely made a blip on Nielsen's Dradis.

Fast nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.\

Well what do you think?? are they being Bone by the network???

Seriously the network screwed up by making it impossible to follow & stay interested with  the way they've broken up the season.  The other thing is, honestly, 10 pm is too late for me to watch any show.  And Valentine's Day?  If the hubby had been here, we wouldn't  have needed the tv for entertainment!  Cheesy

All shows have declining ratings (bar smallville) so it's no suprise. Plus the way they've screwed around it's no surprise they're plummeting.

They'll just have to revamp their system to take into account shows that are recorded and watched later by viewers.  It's the only way to get a real representation of viewers habits.

IMO its there own fault they wanted viewers to wait months for new episodes and as the way lost has progressed so far you have no fraking idea what going on anyway !! dont even get me started on the latest episode !!

smallville ratings have been averaging  on about 3rd for 6 seasons now thats a very steady and continious amount of viewers , but i would say that superman fans ''I being a huge one'' the producers took a look at forums and desided to give the fans what they wanted , maybe thats because there at the end of what they can do with the show , but from a viewers stand point at least its gonna go out on a high and not jump the shark like most shows

i agree with Nykonski they wait too damn long to come up with something. And aspect the fans the wait and lumber around untill they feel good and ready.Stargate was doing the same damn thing.Waiting for 5 month's to see what they have recorded the year before already.Kiss my sweet A$$gard :) I don't wait.If there is an other show that is half way descent i watch that and forget about the other show.

The thing is there is too many Options avaiable now."Don't  Hate the Player,Hate the Game" And they are the one's that is playing  this stupid game,so i do what is best for me too.

You are right.  That`s what many viewers are doing.  It makes no sense to program the way they do.  They aren`t paying attention to reality and the viewing public.
