OK - I hadn't fully understood what was needed, or where this was going to have to fit on the screen. I'd thought what was wanted was a background picture like we had on the old site, with the spaceships and star background. Clearly I've got the wrong end of the stick. Now I understand that it's just the little logo bit you have asked us to have a go at.

To help me get started, do you possibly have a few dimensions I could work to? Or failing that, a width to depth ratio, maybe? Also, does this new logo have to blend in with the blue background you've set up, or can it be a full image in it's own right?

OK guys and gals, I've had a bit of a play around with some images (perhaps the phrase "a bit of a battle" might be more accurate, since Photoshop simply wouldn't do as it was told), and here are my efforts . . .

I'm starting to get the hang of this now, but it's giving me brain ache trying to sort out the image size and dots/inch to get the logos correct size.

The one with The Best Trek in 3 different colours I like the ship, but not the 3 different colours.  My second favourite is the one with the red writing.

But overall, an excellent effort.

with trek a bit dead ... I'd like to see the federation ship Relativity in the signature ..

One with flames and black lettering is pretty good, but trek is identified with ships, and thus our banner needs to be as well.

OK folks - the mood from everyone seems to suggest that ships are going to be the favoured background image. I've had a bit of a go using The Relativity, The Deltaflyer, and the Defiant, so here's a few more to think about . . .

I agree, 1 & 9 are the best, but I still don't like the 3 different colours in the title on #1.  I also prefer the ship not being so obscured by the lettering, which is why I prefer 9 to the others.  The detail isn't visible enough on the ship for #9, but I like the use of colour in it's background.  Love the sun, looks like a giant !  I'm not too sure about the font for #9.  Maybe punch it up a bit.

Excellent efforts again!  :)  Whatever you guys end up using I'm sure will be good!

Tried the blue and black colours as well, but they looked terrible so I've deleted those.

Oh, and I've added the naked chick at one of the windows, so you will have to zoom in to see her. The extra bit of fun is the fact I'm not going to tell you which window. I wonder how many will try to find her . . .

I like that set the best.  I can't tell you which colour of lettering I prefer.  The green was my knee jerk favourite, but the more I look I'm liking the other two equally well.

If it was a naked guy I'd be looking closer.
