Learning more about Claire (Emilie de Ravin) and her amazing connection to one of the island castaways interested more viewers than who would've turned out for a rerun of "CSI: NY," but viewership continues to slip for ABC's "Lost" after it posted a 7.3 rating/13 share in Wednesday Fast Nationals by Nielsen Media Research. The show had a 7.6/12 last week.

Maybe ABC would have better luck if "Lost" returned to 8 p.m. now that "American Idol" has cleared the timeslot. The highest-rated program there was "Bones" on Fox, which pulled in a 6.4/11, ahead of NBC's "Dateline" (5.8/10). "Jericho" finished third for CBS with a 5.1/8, ahead of sitcoms on ABC.

"Lost" also continues to suffer from poor lead-in shows. ABC chose to put reruns of two not-so-strong-performing sitcoms -- "According to Jim" and "In Case of Emergency" -- in front of it that averaged a 3.4/6, Zap2it reported.

ABC overall finished third for Wednesday night, slipping past NBC with a 5.0/8. It finished behind Fox (9.4/15) and CBS (6.4/10).

Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that includes both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.
