AAARGH!!! DON'T LOOK!!!!

« on: May 04, 2007, 02:24:20 AM »

I saw this & thought it was soooo cool.  There is a video of it at the link below:

Look sir, droids! R2-D2 projector adds Force to your home theater

If there's a normal, unpretentious home theater projector out there in the universe, this is the projector it's farthest from. Star Wars fans will be knocking each other over to get to Nikko's R2-D2 home theater projector, which shoots video out of its eye (it would have been perfect if it used the hologram-projector port, though). The resolution is only 800 x 600 (south of high-def), but speakers are built in, and so is a DVD player as well as an iPod dock. And it wouldn't be R2 if he didn't move — you can make him follow you anywhere in your house via the remote control.

And have we mentioned the remote control? A replica of the Millenium Falcon, it's a riot in its own right, with controls that pop out of the engines in the back. Too sweet. For that extra Jedi atmosphere, be sure to pick up a Darth Vader popcorn machine. It could be in stores as early as the spring for a little more than 2 Gs. Enjoy some video of R2 in action after the jump. — Peter Pachal

I'd buy it just to get the remote control of the Millenium Falcon "The fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy."

Can you imagine remotely sending R2D2 into a room and then start projecting a video? He would be a good alarm clock too...

What cracks me up is the "Darth Vader Popcorn Machine"  - after the popcorn is popped I can imagine Darth Vader asking in a deep voice - '"Butter"', followed by loud breathing? Prepare to die

LOL  Love the smilies you chose!  Cheesy  Perfect!

I wonder if James Earl Jones would lend his voice to that!  I didn't even think of that until you said it.  :)

Cheesy  I can just imagine what my cat would think.  He loves little remote controlled cars that are about the size of his paw because he can send them flying.  But this?  It's about as big as he is, so I think he's just flick his tail up and saunter away...that is if it didn't scare the crap out of him enough to make him run!

I wish they'd shown the remote!  I would have loved to see it!  Cheesy  Yup, that would be fun!

Yup.  I'm using my $2500.00 (or $2750.00 CAD) for something much more exciting like new windows, doors, flooring, or better yet, I'll put it towards that new furnace & a/c unit I have my eye on!  Cheesy
